The Rectorate is a collegial body headed by the Rector and consists of the Vice-Rectors of the University of Arts of Tirana (UART), the heads of the main units of UART and the Administrator of the university. This body has an important role in the management and strategic development of the institution.
The Rectorate drafts the strategic development plan of the university based on the proposals of the basic and main units. It proposes the opening, closing or reorganization of the main units and other special units. It also expresses its opinion on the topics and issues that affect the functioning and autonomy of the University of Arts.
One of the main tasks of the Rectorate is the formulation of criteria for the distribution of financial, material and human resources, as well as the determination of priorities in meeting the requests of the institution's units for funding, on which the annual draft budgets are based. The Rectorate presents recommendations to the Senate on the general organic and analytical structure of the university, as well as on the number of personnel at all levels. It also drafts and submits to the Senate for approval the annual plan of academic and artistic/scientific research activities.
In addition, the Rectorate makes recommendations to the Senate on draft agreements, collaborations or memberships of the institution in national and international organizations or institutions. It takes measures to implement the decisions of the Academic Senate, and submits for approval the code of ethics and regulations of the University of the Arts.
In the event of complaints against the decisions of the various faculty bodies, the Rectorate has the authority to review them and make the relevant decisions. It also handles and resolves disputes between the heads of the main units. In addition to all these responsibilities, the Rectorate also exercises other powers provided for in the statute and other acts of the University of the Arts.
